Penjaringan Kesehatan Anak Sekolah (Screening) adalah salah satu bentuk dari pelayanan kesehatan yang bertujuan untuk mendeteksi dini siswa yang memiliki masalah kesehatan agar segera mendapatkan penangan an sedini mungkin serta tersedianya data atau informasi untuk menilai perkembangan kesehatan peserta didik.
Rabu (25/10) petugas Kesehatan dari Puskesmas Gondokusuman melakukan Screening secara menyeluruh terhadap semua siswa di SMP Muhammadiyah 10 Yogyakarta Adapun proses rangkaian Screening meliputi pemeriksaan kebersihan perorangan (rambut, kulit dan kuku), pemeriksaan status gizi melalui pengukuran antropometri, pemeriksaan ketajaman indera (penglihatan dan pendengaran), pemeriksaan kesehatan gigi dan mulut.
Kegiatan Screening Kesehatan bersama Puskesmas Gondokusuman berlangsung dari jam 08.00 WIB sampai dengan selesai di depan ruang Bimbingan Konseling (BK).
Titi Windarti, S.Pd., selaku Pembina UKS Muhdasa mengatakan screening kesehatan anak sekolah merupakan kegiatan rutin yang dilakukan setiap tahun dengan bekerjasama atau Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) dari Puskesmas dengan sekolah-sekolah SMP di wilayah Gondokusuman.
“Dalam pelaksanaanya kegiatan screening ini diikuti seluruh siswa kelas 7-9 dan 9 petugas kesehatan dari Puskesmas Gondokusuman. Setiap petugas tersebut memiliki tugas masing-masing untuk melakukan pengecekan kesehatan tiap siswa,”imbuhnya.
dr Rina Retnowati dan dr Eka Nugraha selaku dokter di puskesmas Gondokusuman, menjelaskan tujuan pelaksanaan screening kesehatan ini untuk memeriksa status kesehatan siswa.
“Kegiatan ini dilakukan bertujuan untuk memeriksa status kesehatan siswa atau mendeteksi secara dini, mulai dari status gizi yang diketahui dari tinggi badan dan berat badan nanti dibandingkan dengan umur. Bagaimana status gizinya kurang atau lebih, kurus atau obesitas. Setelah itu, pemeriksaan mata, ada kelainan atau buta warna. Kemudian, pemeriksaan kebersihan diri mulai dari telinga, rambut, kuku, gigi, dan mulut,”jelasnya.
Tidak hanya melakukan pengecekan kesehatan, dari serangkaian kegiatan tersebut dia juga memberikan edukasi kepada siswa untuk selalu menjaga kebersihan dan kesehatan. Apabila setelah kegiatan ini ditemukan permasalahan pada siswa dia mengimbau untuk melakukan pemeriksaan lebih lanjut ke fasilitas kesehatan terdekat.
“Hal tersebut bertujuan untuk memberikan edukasi kepada siswa pada waktu proses pelaksanaan screening guna menjaga kebersihan diri dan kesehatannya. Apabila dalam proses screening ditemukan masalah kesehatannya maka akan kita rujuk untuk datang ke fasilitas kesehatan terdekat,”pungkasnya. (dee)
